Setup & Security Guide
Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of protection to your account. Instead of just entering your password, you’ll also confirm your identity using a second method — such as a text message code or an authentication app.
Why MFA Keeps You Safe
- Passwords can be stolen — through phishing emails, malware, or weak/reused passwords.
- MFA stops attackers even if they have your password — because they still need the extra code from your phone or app.
- It protects sensitive data — especially if you handle personal information or business-critical files.
- It reduces account takeovers — Microsoft reports MFA can block over 99% of automated attacks.
Think of MFA as adding an extra locked door — even if someone manages to unlock the first door, the second one keeps them from gaining access
Step-by-Step: How to Set Up MFA
1. Sign in to your account
- Go to the KEYinfinity login page.
- Enter your email and password as usual.
2. Start MFA setup
- If MFA is required, you’ll be prompted to set it up after signing in.
- Click Sign in when asked to add additional security.
3. Setup your authentication app
- Authentication App (Recommended)
- Download Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator on your smartphone.
- Scan the QR code on the screen.
- Click Continue
- Enter the 6-digit code from the app > Click Verify.
5. Finish and test
- Sign out by clicking Logout on the next screen and sign back in to make sure your MFA is working.
- You should be prompted for your extra code after entering your password.
Tips for Using MFA
- Keep your phone secure — use a PIN, fingerprint, or face unlock.
- Don’t approve sign-in requests you didn’t make — it could be someone trying to break in.
